Stacks 4.0 Release Notes (2023)

On May 29, 2023, we released Build 95 to all Stacks 4.0 sites, introducing a range of improvements and fixes to enhance your experience. This update addresses user feedback and focuses on enhancing the stability, performance, and functionality of Stacks.

New Features

• Loan System Feature
  Added a new Loan System feature to Collections, to improve catalog management. Stacks now offers a way to easily track and manage loans including ways to check an item in/out, associate a name with a checked-out item, set due dates, record check-in dates and generate reporting on checked-out and overdue items.
   
• Field Re-ordering for Collection Items
  Introduced the ability to reorder fields for collection items. Users can now customize the order of fields within collection items, providing more flexibility and improved organization.

Fixes

• Easy Form Translation
  Fixed a bug where administrators were unable to access the Translate option in the operations dropdown on the Easy forms dashboard page.
   
• EDS Expanders
  Resolved an issue where EDS Expanders were not triggering as expected. The expanders now function properly, enhancing the user experience by providing expanded information when needed.
   
• Allow Anonymous users to export Collection data in RIS Format
  Enabled the ability for anonymous users to export collections in RIS format. This feature is now accessible to all users, allowing them to export collection data conveniently in the desired format.
   
• Floating Hours and Location Block
  Addressed a visual issue where an unwanted floating Hours and Location block appeared behind the main content area and footer of landing pages. This block has been removed to ensure a consistent and unobstructed user interface.

Stacks 4.0 (Build 94) was released to all sites on May 2, 2023 which includes the following enhancements and fixes:

FIXES
 

• Database Listings Style Editor Settings 
  The issue causing the style editor settings for the Database listings page to be disregarded has been resolved.
   
• Main Navigation Menu Sorting 
  The issue that resulted in the resetting and reordering of menu items on the Main menu dashboard page during main navigational menu sorting has been resolved.

Stacks 4.0 (Build 93) was released to all sites on April 20, 2023 which includes the following enhancements and fixes:

IMPROVEMENTS:

• Default sort settings enabled for Collection Items.
• Accessibility improvements when an end-user uses the number of results drop down or language selector.

FIXES:

• Slides on the Slider feature were not respecting the publishing schedule.
• Research guides were not appearing in SDS (Internal website) searches.
• Role permissions for Research Guides blocks have been corrected.
• We fixed an issue that could cause Collection imports to generate an error.
• Resolved an issue that would restrict Stacks mobile to one slider.
• Fixed Collection Item Block to add space between field labels and content on landing pages.

Stacks 4.0 (Build 92) was released to all sites on April 5, 2023 which includes the following enhancements and fixes:

NEW FEATURE

• Administrators can enable a location limited for each Resource Flow item when querying Sierra and be prompted to select a location for the item before it's added to the resource flow.

FIXES:

• Resolved an issue that caused Location and Hours data from displaying improperly.
• Fixed an issue preventing users from navigating to research guide tabs from the main menu.
• Removed a horizontal scroll bar which appeared in search results when ratings feature was enabled.
• Fixed a caching issue when updating Banner text in the Style Editor.
• Resolved an issue that caused Collection search results from returning.

Stacks 4.0 (Build 91) was released to all sites on March 24, 2023 which includes the following enhancements and fixes:

NEW FEATURES:

• Overdrive integration now has a block in the My Account Page.

IMPROVEMENTS:

• Addition of labels and translation support for mobile fields
• RSS Feed Improvements.

FIXES:

• Resolved an issue preventing CiNii from retrieving results
• Resolved an issue with the CAPTCHA options not working for Easy Forms.
• Resolved Arabic translation errors.
• Fixed the Rated Item counts on detail records.
• Accessibility fix for the Style editor logo alt tag.

Stacks 4.0 (Build 90) was released to all sites on March 9, 2023 which includes the following enhancements and fixes:

IMPROVEMENTS & NEW FEATURES

• New integration with Fitch API.
• Overdrive integration enhancement to include My Account page functionality.
• Events Reporting for detailed attendance information. 

FIXES

• Fixed an issue preventing book jacket providers from retrieving covers for Polaris.
• Fixed an issue that caused URLs from encoding properly in Sliders.
• Administrators role has been modified to restore missing permissions. 
• Resolved an issue causing the Search bar to be invisible when Search Style was drop-down.
• Fixed the Bento Block peer review filter.

Stacks 4.0 (Build 89) was released to all sites on March 1, 2023 which includes the following enhancements and fixes:

IMPROVEMENTS & NEW FEATURES

• Added a Content Listing Page for RSS Feeds.
• Additional fields added to the Sierra detailed record view.
• Added the Number of Copies field added to Overdrive results.

FIXES

• Removed Topic Groups as a forced filter on Website search results. 
• Fixed broken links in Dynamic Health articles.
• Fixed the See More link for the Euromonitor.
• Resolved an issue causing errors using the Mintel API.
• Resolved an issue with website search that caused results to appear in triplicate.
• Fixed an issue that could cause errors when creating filter vocabulary terms.
• Fixed the search field height.

Stacks 4.0 (Build 88) was released to all sites on February 7, 2023 which includes the following enhancements and fixes:

IMPROVEMENTS & NEW FEATURES

• New QR Code feature for Events to manage attendance/access.

FIXES

• Resolved an issue that could disable Easy Form email notifications.
• Resolved an Internal Search issue that could prevent database links from working correctly.
• Addition of the option 'None' to the Authentication list.

Stacks 4.0 (Build 87) was released to all sites on January 31, 2023 which includes the following enhancements and fixes:


IMPROVEMENTS & NEW FEATURES

• Enabled the Comments feature for Collections and EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) items.
• Menus now offer ability of Hover to Expand functionality.
• Improvements to the Style Editor with additional options.

FIXES

• Resolved an issue that could prevent internal search results from appearing based on the user role.
• Resolved an issue that could prevent translation of main menu items that caused the message: “Non-translatable fields can only be changed when updating the original language.”
• Completed a Permissions audit on Editor and Moderator roles and adjusted to defined criteria.
• Resolved an issue that prevented custom labels from appearing on list & detail view of Collections.
• Resolved an issue that caused incorrect results being returned when multiple terms used in a feature search.

Stacks 4.0 (Build 86) was released to all sites on January 12, 2023 which includes the following enhancements and fixes:


IMPROVEMENTS & NEW FEATURES

• New Ratings feature allowing end-users to rate (like/dislike) Collection Items & EDS results.
• Support for Mintel GraphQL API allowing Mintel GraphQL results to appear in a Bento Box

FIXES

• Resolved an issue that could cause an error when registering a guest without primary contact info.
• Resolved an issue with internal search that generated an incorrect link to database listings.
• Corrected permissions for the Editor and Moderator roles to display correct dashboard pages.
• Fixed an issue that caused Events filters to clear when moving between days, months & year views.
• Adjusted the display of available content blocks in the landing page layout editor.
• Fixed an issue that could cause a file size warning to appear when linking to an external image.
