Editing or Deleting News Articles

Users with the appropriate permissions have the ability to manage your News articles in a variety of ways, this could include editing news articles for content, deleting articles, editing the display of articles on your homepage or another landing page, and more.

Editing Articles

Important! Users with the Contributor or Editor role can only edit the articles they create; whereas, users with the Moderator or Administrator role can all edit any news article.

From the Dashboard, click the News articles tile
Locate the article by
1. Browsing the list; OR
2. Searching by the article title
Once found, under the Operations column, click Edit
1. From here you can edit any of the fields associated with the article, including updating the publishing workflow if needed
2. Click Save

Alternatively, navigate to the article on your Stacks site. When logged in as a user with administrative access, you will see a series of tabs near the top of the screen. Click the Edit tab, make the required changes, then click Save.

Deleting Articles

Important! Only users with the Moderator or Administrator role can delete a news article.

Follow steps 1 and 2 from the instructions above to locate the article to delete
Once found, under the Operations column, click the drop-down arrow, then click Delete
1. A confirmation window will appear
  1. Click Delete to continue with deletion; or
  2. Click Cancel to cancel the deletion and return to the article list

Alternatively, navigate to the article on your Stacks site. When logged in as a user with appropriate administrative access, you will see a series of tabs near the top of the screen. Click the Delete tab and follow the confirmation prompts to delete the article.

Editing the Heading, Helper Text, and Moving the News Article Block

Important! Only users with the Administrator role can perform the functions described below.

Navigate to the landing page where the news article block resides
Click the Layout tab
Scroll to the section where the block is located, then click the Pencil icon, then Configure
1. Show/hide the heading by clicking the eyeball icon to the right
  1. If the heading is displayed, this can be edited if the name needs to change
2. Update the Helper text, if needed
3. Click Update to save these changes
To move the news article block to a different location on the same page
1. Click and drag the block to another section on the page
When finished making any of the changes in the steps described above, scroll to the top of the page and click Save Layout
To move the news article block to a different landing page
1. Click the Pencil icon, then click Remove block, in the next window click Remove
2. Navigate to the new landing page to re-add the news article block

  2. Follow the steps for adding content to a landing page
