As discussed in the overview, landing pages are a great way to build pages with custom content and navigation points that allow your users/patrons to interact with the content you choose to place on the page.
Each Stacks site will have a default homepage, which is a landing page, and users with the appropriate permissions can add more landing pages as needed. This article will focus on the basics for creating a page, as well as describe how to add sections and blocks of content to the page.
Users with the Administrator or Moderator role have the permissions to create, edit, and if needed delete landing pages.

Adding Sections and Content
Adding Sections
Once a page has been created you can begin adding sections to the page which will hold the content you plan to add. Sections act as containers for your content and can be added in 3 different configurations depending on the content you plan to add and the look you would like to achieve for the page.
Once the page has been created, you'll need to navigate to the Layout Builder to begin adding sections and content, to do this:
- From the Landing pages list view, either
- Click the title link from the column on the right, then click the Layout tab just under the page header; OR
- Under the Operations column, click Edit, then click the Layout tab near the top of the screen
- Once in the Layout Builder, you see an initial page layout with an option to add new sections and blocks of content
- To add new sections
- Click + Add section
- A window will open with 3 layout options
- 1 column, the section will be the full width of the content area
- 2 column, the section will be split into two columns both 50% of the content area
- 3 column, the section will be split into three columns, with an additional option to choose between either a 33%/34%/33% split OR a 25%/50%/25% split, select the appropriate option
-
Administrative label, once the column configuration is selected, you will have the option to add this label
- This will only be visible to administrators when in this layout builder view and may be helpful in identifying the type of content being added to the section, especially if you have multiple administrators who manage the site
- Click Add Section
- A window will open with 3 layout options
- Click + Add section
Repeat the steps in #3 to add more sections to the page as needed.

Within the columns of each section is the option to add a block, this is where you will add the content that you wish to appear in that section.
- Click + Add block
- A window will open on the right listing the content that can be added to the section
- Content will be organized by feature type, scroll to the content or filter by name in the filter field at the top
- Once the content is found, click the Title
- A window will open displaying the current Heading

- The field (and helper text field below) will then be "greyed-out" and cannot be edited
-
Helper Text, if applicable, enter a short description or instructions to provide guidance to the user/patron
- This will appear as an 'i' icon to the right of the heading, users/patrons can click or hover over the icon to view the helper text
-
Subheading, if applicable, enter a value to display as a subheading
- Sub-Title URL, if applicable, enter the full URL to the page you wish to direct users/patrons to when they click the displayed subheading
