Administrators have the ability to create media folders as a way to help categorize files that are uploaded to Stacks. When uploading new files during content creation, the appropriate media folder can then be selected. Then, when viewing the list of uploaded files, this can be categorized by the media folder the file was assigned to. This can be very advantageous if your Stacks site as a lot of files uploaded to it.
To Create a New Media Folder
- From the Dashboard, click Files
- Click + Add media folder
- Click + Add term
- Enter the folder name in the Name field
- Click
- Save, to save the value and add another
- Save and go to list, to save the value and return to the list
Filtering the List of Files
When clicking into the Files tile from the Dashboard, the initial view will be of all uploaded files, which depending on the number uploaded, could be a lot. Being able to filter or categorize this list can help reduce the time used in finding particular files.
- From the Dashboard, click Files
- In the filter section near the top of the page enter the appropriate filter(s):
- Media Name, this is the name or title of the file
- Type, select the most appropriate value from the list
- Media Folder, enter and select the name of the media folder where the file(s) exist
- Published Status, select the most appropriate value from the list
- Language, select the most appropriate value from the list
- Click the Filter button on the far right to apply the filter(s)
