Creating and managing user accounts is a crucial step in the management of your Stacks site. Whether it's a non-administrative patron account that allows someone access to content on your site or features available through the My Account page, or an administrative-type account for individuals responsible for creating content and managing the site, there plenty of role options for ensuring people have the access to Stacks that they need.
Users with the Administrator role can create all account types on behalf of users, they can also configure self-registration to allow users to create patron accounts for themselves.
If content management is also important, one way Stacks can handle this is through Segments, which can be created to group users together should you have the need to restrict users' access to certain content. Surveys can also be created at login to automatically assign users to the appropriate segment.
The following articles in this section will discuss how to create and manage user accounts, as well as how to create Segments and Surveys.
