Once created, users with either the Moderator or Administrator role can then start adding custom block(s) to your homepage or any other landing page on your Stacks site.
This article will explain how to add a block to a landing page.
- Navigate to the page you wish to add the block to
- Click the Layout tab just below the search bar and header
- If needed, add a new section to the landing page, otherwise go to step 4
- For more information on how to add sections, see the article Layouts and Content
- In the desired section, click + Add block, a window will then open on the right
- The window will list all content that can be added to the page, sorted by feature type, scroll to the Custom Block section or enter the block's title in filter field at the top to filter the content list
- Once found, click the block's Title to select it, a new window will then open on the right

Heading, by default this will be the Title value entered when the custom block was created, you have 3 options
- Leave the heading as is, by default this will be visible to your users/patrons

Change the heading, click into the field and type in a new heading name
- Note, this does not change the title of the custom block, this only changes what will be displayed on the landing page as the block's heading

Hide the heading, if you do not wish to show any heading, click the
to the right of the heading field

Helper Text, if applicable, enter a short description or instructions to provide guidance to the user/patron on what this content is or how to interact with it
- Once the block is added to the page, this will appear as a
icon in the top right corner of the block, users/patrons can click the icon to view the helper text
- Important! Visibility of the helper text is tied to the visibility of the heading, if the heading is hidden, the helper text icon will be as well
- Once the block is added to the page, this will appear as a

Subheading, if applicable, enter a value to display as a subheading
- Sub-Title URL, if applicable, enter the full URL to the page you wish to direct users/patrons to when they click the displayed subheading
- Open in new tab/window, if adding a Sub-Title URL, check this box to open that page in a new browser tab/window
- Click Add Block to save this configuration and add the block to the section

- Repeat the steps 4.1 - 4.2.6 to add additional blocks as needed, once finished scroll to the top of the page, and click Save Layout to save your changes
