The Style Editor is an administrator tool used to configure the design elements of your Stacks site directly from the homepage. This provides administrators with the ability to see their changes in real time and tweak the design as needed.
As it pertains to Research Guides, you have the ability to adjust a few different settings, including:
- Listings Page
- Details Page
- Blocks Colors
Access the Style Editor by logging into your Stacks site, then click the paint brush icon in the bottom right.
Scroll to the Featured Layout section, then click Research Guide to expand the options that can be configured. Click on each option and adjust the settings as needed.
Listings Page
The Listings Page section manages the layout used for research guides.
- Layout
- Choose from one of three available layouts, each layout determines the placement of the search and filter blocks (to the left, right, or above the research guides)
Details Page
The Listings Page section manages the layout and colors for individual research guides, better known as the detailed view.
- Layout
- Choose the placement of the research guide tabs when viewing a research guide. Select from the default left layout, which places tabs to the left of your research guide content, or select right to move research guide tabs to the right side of the page
- Blocks Layout
- Choose how each block within a Research guide tab will appear. Select the 1-column layout to stack each block on top of each other, or select the 2-column layout to maintain the legacy view, which consists of two blocks for each row
Blocks Color
You can control the colors for the blocks that appear in each research guide. Here, you can configure the colors for the options listed below. For each, click the color preview icon, select the color for the option, color selection can be by the HEX or RGB code if you have either.
- Font - this is the color of the text in the research guide blocks
- Link - this is for any links within the research guide blocks
- Background - this will appear behind the guide blocks
- Border - the border will surround each guide block
