For organizations that have implemented the Stacks Mobile application, administrators can complete the setup and management of the app from the dashboard. From here you will also be able to configure and manage different pieces of content accessible from the app, including: callouts, sliders, resource flows, and more.
Global Settings
To configure the global settings for the app:
- From the Dashboard, click Mobile Application
- Click Global Settings from the menu on the left
- Enable ILS Pickup Branch to be updatable, check this box to prompt users to specify a preferred pickup branch when placing a hold request
- Switch to Codabar for user accounts, check this box to force the barcode displayed in the library card view to be a linear barcode instead of a QR format
- Enable Site-Wide Authentication Toggle, check this box to force users to login to access any features of the mobile apps
- Click Save Configuration
Menu Items
Administrators will have the ability to toggle certain features on or off which will be displayed in the tab bar at the bottom of the app. To enable/disable these features:
- From the Dashboard, click Mobile Application
- Click Menu Items from the menu on the left
- Check the box beside the item to display in the tab bar along the bottom of the mobile app
- Rooms - currently not available, but will be available in a future release
- Databases - currently not available, but will be available in a future release
- Directory Listings - currently not available, but will be available in a future release
- Forms - currently not available, but will be available in a future release
- Events - currently not available, but will be available in a future release
- Ebooks - this feature is displayed by default, the ability to turn this on/off will be available in a future release
- Locations
- My Account
- News - currently not available, but will be available in a future release
- Search
- Click Save Configuration
- Check the box beside the item to display in the tab bar along the bottom of the mobile app
Library Items
Toggle the features on or off which you would like to appear in the Library tab of the mobile application.
- From the Dashboard, click Mobile Application
- Click Library Items from the menu on the left
- Check the box beside the item to display in the tab bar along the bottom of the mobile app

- Library Links
- Enable, check this box to enable the ability to display up to 5 web links or app links within your mobile app
- Type, select the type of link to add
- Web Link
- Title
- Web URL, enter the full URL to where users will be directed
- App Link
- Title, the title for the link
- Enable Android App Link, check to enable an android app link
- Android Bundle ID
- This can be found by searching the app in the Google Play store, then pulling the ID from the URL
- Android Bundle ID
- Enable IOS App Link, check to enable an android app link
- IOS App Link
- IOS App Store Link
- Web Link
- Click Save Configuration
- Check the box beside the item to display in the tab bar along the bottom of the mobile app
Theme Overrides
Customize the appearance of icons, text, buttons and more within your app.
- From the Dashboard, click Mobile Application
- Click Theme Overrides from the menu on the left
- Click the color indicator icon beside the following options to open the color picker tool
- Icons Color
- Bar Color
- Title Text Color
- Content Text Color
- Buttons Background Color
- Buttons Text Color
- Tab Selected Color
- Click Save Configuration
- Click the color indicator icon beside the following options to open the color picker tool
Wallet Pass
With Wallet Pass, customers can view their library card on their device's mobile wallet.
- From the Dashboard, click Mobile Application
- Click Wallet Pass from the menu on the left
- Enable Wallet Pass, check this to enable the Wallet Pass feature
- Android Issuer Name, issuer name used when setting up Android passes
- Android Class ID, ID used for setting up Android passes
- Android Program Name, program name used for setting up Android passes
- Click Save Configuration
Callout
Callouts are visual elements commonly used in web design, applications, and digital marketing campaigns to draw attention to specific content, features, or to take a desired action.
Administrators can create callouts from the Dashboard in their Stacks application, see the article Creating Callouts for more information. Once created, administrators can add up to 5 callouts to the mobile app as well.
- From the Dashboard, click Mobile Application
- Click Callout from the menu on the left
- In the Callout 1 - Callout 5 fields, select the callout(s) to be displayed in the mobile app
- Click Save Configuration
Resource Flow
Resource Flows are a feature that allows you to create visual lists of resources that can be added either manually or automatically through queries to EDS or an ILS, which are then displayed in a scrollable image carousel.
Administrators can create resource flows from the Dashboard in their Stacks application, see the article Creating Resource Flows for more information. Once created, administrators can add up to 5 resource flows to the mobile app as well.
- From the Dashboard, click Mobile Application
- Click Resource Flow from the menu on the left
- In the Resource Flow 1 - Resource Flow 5 fields, select the callout(s) to be displayed in the mobile app
- Click Save Configuration
Slider
A slider is a feature, similar to resource flows, which enable the display of a series of images, each of which can be linked to a relevant page, resource, or external site.
Administrators can create sliders from the Dashboard in their Stacks application, see the article Creating Sliders for more information. Once created, administrators can 1 slider to the mobile app as well.
Note: For an exceptional user experience and consistent display across phones and tablets, it is recommended that sliders with images use a 4:3 or 2:1 aspect ratio, with suggested image resolutions of 1234x1029px or 1024x450px.
- From the Dashboard, click Mobile Application
- Click Slider from the menu on the left
- In the Slider field, select the callout(s) to be displayed in the mobile app
- Click Save Configuration
