You have the ability to facilitate collaboration and communication with your logged-in users/patrons by enabling a comment feature which allows users to enter comments on collection items.
Important! By default, this feature is not enabled and therefore must be enabled for users/patrons to access it. Also, this is not a global setting, meaning it must be enabled on a collection by collection basis.
Enabling Comments
Enabling the comments feature, can be done in one of two places:
- From the Dashboard, click the Collections tile
- Search for the collection to enable the comments for by:
- Browsing the list; OR
- Searching the list by the collection's name
- Once found, under the Operations column, click the drop-down arrow, then click Settings
- Click the Listing View or Details View tab near the top of the screen
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Enable comments for collection_item
Adding Comments
Once this feature has been enabled, users/patrons will see the comments box at the bottom of the screen, when viewing a collection item. From here, they can enter the comment, then click Save to submit it.
