On Monday October 16, 2023, we deployed Stacks 4.0 Build 105 across all Stacks websites as part of our ongoing commitment to improve Stacks.
Improvements
- Index Entry Detail Page
In Stacks 4.0, a detail page for index entries was introduced. When an end-user clicked on the title of an index entry from an index page, they were first directed to a detail view before they could access the desired URL field. However, in response to customer feedback, we have reverted to the functionality found in Stacks 3.3.0. Now, when end-users click on the title of an index entry, they are automatically taken to the associated URL, just as in the previous version. - Related Events
Upcoming events with matching filter vocabulary terms will now appear at the bottom of an event detail page. This feature is intended to provide users and patrons with information about related or similar events that may be of interest to them. - Directory Listings 'Sort By'
We've made changes to the Directory Listings feature, ensuring that the "Sort By" menu options are exclusively accessible when the "Group by" setting is set to "None." This adjustment is necessary because sorting by first or last name is not applicable when the directory listing is grouped by categories like Department, title, type, etc.
Fixes
- Directory Listings Hours of Operation
We have resolved a problem that was hindering administrators from configuring Hours of Operations for Directory Listings. Previously, when an admin tried to make changes to the hours, they would encounter an error message stating, "This value should be of the correct primitive type." - Incorrect day parameter on Events Listing page URL
The Events list pages featured a URL parameter that was consistently set to display events from the day prior to the selected date. For instance, if an end-user was viewing events for August 24, 2023, they would notice that the day parameter in the URL read as 'day=2023-08-23'. This incongruity could potentially cause confusion, especially for power users who preferred to navigate using the URL. - Error when deleting RSS Feeds
In certain instances, when an administrator tried to remove an RSS feed, they encountered an error. We have now addressed and resolved this issue.
