On November 21, 2023, we deployed Stacks 4.0 Build 108 as part of our ongoing commitment to improve Stacks.
New Features
- RSS Feeds for Events
In this release, we've added the functionality to generate an RSS feed for Events. This feature can be utilized with the Stacks RSS feature to display within an RSS Block on a landing page, or to showcase event information created in Stacks on an external site. - End Users can export Collection Items to in a CSV
In this release, administrators now have the capability to activate an export feature, enabling end users to choose and download a list of collection items in CSV format. - Protected Content prompts Logins
Before this release, when an unauthenticated user accessed a content-protected page requiring a login, only an error message was displayed. With the latest update, unauthenticated users will now receive more informative messaging, clearly indicating the necessity to log in to access the protected content.
Fixes
- Special characters incorrectly encoded
When placing a URL into the link field of any content type, inputting a colon (:) would be automatically be encoded as %3A. This resulted in certain links, particularly those with proxies, failing to redirect to the intended resource. We have addressed and resolved this issue. - Closed EasyForm Settings not being obeyed
We identified an issue where EasyForms set to a closed status were still accepting submissions from end users. This behavior has been rectified, and the system now correctly restricts form submissions when the status is set to closed. - Additional Database Listing links not displaying
Previously, extra links added to a database listing in the dashboard were not appearing as expected on the database listings page. We have made adjustments to ensure that any additional links are now displayed as intended. - Location and Hours Bar displaying incorrect day
We identified an issue where the location bar at the top of sites was displaying incorrect day and hours. For instance, when accessing the site on Tuesday, the displayed hours corresponded to Saturday. This issue has been resolved. - Unable to save changes to Event notifications
Previously, when saving changes to Event notifications, the page would refresh, but the modifications were not retained. Instead, the page would refresh and revert to the previous event notification content. This issue has been addressed, and changes are now successfully saved. - Staff Permissions for Events
We identified an issue where certain staff roles lacked the anticipated permissions to manage events. The following updates have been implemented: Administrators can now delete event instances, and both Moderators and Event Managers have been granted access to all events.
Incremental Release - Build 108.1
On November 28, 2023, we deployed an incremental release, Build 108.1, to address the following issues:
-
- Read More button prompting for Login
The Read More button for EDS Search results incorrectly prompted users to log into Stacks. In this build, we have corrected the Read More button to align with the preferred authentication methods configured in EBSCOhost, ensuring users are no longer prompted to log into Stacks when clicking the Read More button.
Search Bar disappearing
In certain instances, the main search bar situated in the header would vanish. This issue stemmed from a configuration problem with the search drop-down but has now been rectified.
- Read More button prompting for Login
