To help prevent spam, it's advisable to add a CAPTCHA to all forms on your Stacks site. This element can be integrated directly into the form, similar to regular data entry fields. When adding a CAPTCHA, you can select from the following challenge types:
- Math
- Image
- reCAPTCHA
While CAPTCHA challenges can significantly reduce spam, they are not foolproof and will not completely eliminate it. Advanced bots and bad actors have developed methods to bypass these tests, so it's important to use CAPTCHA as part of a broader strategy to manage spam effectively. You can also Restrict forms to authenticated users - which will require end-users to log in before they will be able to complete a form.
