In Stacks, the Filter Vocabularies is an important feature that can help improve the organization and discoverability of content. These are collections of terms or keywords that are used to organize and filter content which allow users to easily narrow it based on specific criteria.
You can customize Filter Vocabularies to suit your organization's needs, these can include terms such as topics, tags, categories, or any other relevant keywords that help to classify and organize content. When applied to the content in Stacks, filter vocabularies allow users to search and filter content based on specific keywords or terms, for example:
- A website that covers multiple topics might use a filter vocabulary to allow users to sort articles by topic, such as sports, entertainment, or politics

- Collections
- Each collection can have its own unique set of filter vocabularies

- Directory listings
- Index Pages & Entries

Adding Filter Vocabulary Terms
- From the Dashboard click System Configuration, then Filter Vocabularies
- Select the desired feature from the tabs on the left-hand side
- Click the List terms link that corresponds to the filter list you'd like to manage
- Click Add term and complete the form
- Name is the filter term
- Description is used to store additional information
- Expand the relations section to define a relationship with a Parent term, this can help organize terms and make it easier to find and select related terms
- Choose a weight to determine the order
- Click Save
Deleting Filter Vocabulary Terms
- From the Dashboard click System Configuration, then Filter Vocabularies
- Select the desired feature from the tabs on the left-hand side
- Click the List terms link that corresponds to the filter list you'd like to manage
- Find the term, then under the Operations column
- Click the drop-down arrow, then click Delete
- You will be asked to confirm the delete operation
- Click Delete button to confirm the deletion; or
- Click Cancel button to cancel the operation
- You will be asked to confirm the delete operation
- Click the drop-down arrow, then click Delete
