The footer area of your Stacks site is a configurable area dedicated to providing important information such as:
- Branding
- Contact information
- Social media
- Custom content
- Custom links
From the footer dashboard, administrators can configure the settings to control the display of the information listed above.
To access the footer dashboard:
- From the Dashboard, click the System Configuration tile
- Click the Footer tile
The options that can be configured are listed in the panel on the left side of the screen, click each option and configure the settings as needed (described below).
Branding
Allows administrators to enable and configure your organization's branding in the footer.
- Display Title / Branding Title
- Check the box to enabled/disable this option
- Enter a title in the Branding Title field to be displayed in the footer
- Display Slogan / Slogan
- Check the box to enabled/disable this option
- Enter a value in the Slogan field to be displayed in the footer
- Display Logo / Upload Logo / Logo
- Check the box to enabled/disable this option
- Click Choose file to select and upload a logo to be displayed in the footer; or
- Maximum file size is 64MB
- For externally hosted images, add the URL to the Logo field
- Note: this will be overridden if an image has been uploaded as described above
- Logo Width
- Set the width of the logo in pixels (px)
- Note: if left empty, the default width is 120px
- Set the width of the logo in pixels (px)
- Click Save configuration before moving on to the next footer option
Contact Information
Enter the appropriate contact information you wish to appear in the footer. Note: fields left blank will not appear in the footer when viewed by an end-user or patron.
- Contact Title / Display Title
- Enter a title to appear above your contact information
- Note: 'Contact Us' is the default text that is used for the title
- Check the Display Title box to enable or disable the appearance of the title
- Note: by default this option is disabled
- Enter a title to appear above your contact information
- Display Content / Remaining fields
- Check the Display Content box to display the information entered into the fields below, these include:
- Email,Staff Directory URL, Directions URL, Dropbox Locations URL, Newsletter URL, Phone Numbers, and Fax Number
- Note: fields left blank will not be displayed
- Email,Staff Directory URL, Directions URL, Dropbox Locations URL, Newsletter URL, Phone Numbers, and Fax Number
- Check the Display Content box to display the information entered into the fields below, these include:
- Click Save configuration before moving on to the next footer option
Social Connect Info
This section of the footer allows administrators to create links to the most common social media services and app stores.
- Social Connect Title / Display Title
- Enter a title to appear above your social connect information
- Note: 'Follow Us' is the default text that is used for the title
- Enter a title to appear above your social connect information
- Social Media URL Fields
- Add your organization's social media URL in the appropriate field
- Icon(s) for the social media type will automatically appear in the footer when a URL has been added to one of these fields. Fields left blank will not display an icon
- Add your organization's social media URL in the appropriate field
Remember to click Save configuration before moving on to the next footer option.
Custom Content
The Custom Content section is used to manage custom content that will appear on the site, examples could include adding copyright, policy, or privacy information or a row of links. You can also paste 3rd party widget code in the Body field (when editing in Source Mode) to add a third-party widget to your site. Contact us widgets are commonly used by libraries to allow patrons a method of communicating directly with a librarian or support staff by opening a chat window or submitting a request form.
- Custom Content Title / Display Title
- Add a title in the Custom content title field
- Check the Display Title box to enable or disable the appearance of the title
- Body
- Enter the content that you wish to appear in the footer of your site
- Click Save configuration before moving on to the next footer option
Custom Links
You can add up to 4 custom links in the footer, this is in addition to the Social media links, which appear as icons. To manage these links, expand the Custom Link section of the Footer dashboard (Main Dashboard > System Configuration > Footer).
- Custom Link Title / Display Title
- Add a title in the Custom Link Title field
- Check the Display Title box to enable or disable the appearance of the title
- Custom Link 1
- Click the drop-down arrow to expand the section
- Custom Link Title, this will be the visible text for the link
- URL, enter or paste the URL for the link
- For internal links, use the relative URL (path)
- For external links, be sure to use the absolute (full) URL
- Repeat as needed for Custom Links 2 through 4
- Click the drop-down arrow to expand the section
- Click Save configuration
