With the Sitemap feature, Stacks administrators can now generate and manage XML sitemaps directly within the Stacks Dashboard. Sitemaps help search engines index pages such as events, guides, and informational content, especially helpful for users who arrive from Google or other search tools rather than your homepage.
Sitemaps update automatically as content changes, so you don’t need to regenerate or maintain them manually. This feature also supports both multi-domain and multi-language sites.
For example:
Since events can be included in the sitemap for your Stacks site, if a patron searches Google for “genealogy workshop Pickering library,” that workshop page should then appear directly in their search results, removing the need for them to navigate to your events list first.
